Diallo Makes Commitment to Kansas City
Babacar Diallo, a 6-foot-5 sophomore wing, has committed to attend The University of Missouri-Kansas City and play basketball for coach Marvin Menzies' Roos of the Summit Conference.
 
Diallo played in 29 games last season for coach Grant McMillan's 17-13 Bulldogs. The Dakar, Senegal, native compiled shooting percentages of 47 from the floor, 39 from three-point range and 70 from the foul line. Diallo tied for fourth in team steals (24) and fifth in total rebounds (98) for the Bulldogs.
 
Diallo totaled a personal-season high 10 points in a 79-62 win over Tyler and grabbed seven rebounds in another Region XIV contest against Panola.
 
Menzies, named as the eighth men's head basketball coach in KC history on April 26, has more than 30 years of college coaching experience, with 246 victories, five NCAA Tournament appearances and six McDonalds All-American signees as head coach at New Mexico State and UNLV.
 
Kansas City finished 19-12 overall and 12-6 in league play last season.
