Justin Thomas Reunites With Milwaukee's New Coach

FROM MILWAUKEE SPORTS INFORMATION

MILWAUKEE – Justin Thomas of Baton Rouge, La., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Milwaukee men's basketball team, head coach Bart Lundy announced Monday.

"We are excited to welcome Justin to the program," Lundy said. "Justin is an extremely talented guard who has a great feel and IQ on the floor. His versatility on both sides of the ball gives him a rare talent."

Thomas, a 6-foot, 7-inch, 195-pound guard, comes to Milwaukee following one season at Navarro College in Corsicana, Tx.

"Justin is just scratching the surface on what he can do with his life and career, on and off the court," Lundy said. "We are fortunate to be a part of that growth and our fans will love to watch him flourish here at Milwaukee."

While with the Bulldogs last season, Thomas played in 28 games, earning a spot in the starting lineup by season's end. He finished with per-game averages of 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, shooting 44 percent from the field and 72.8 percent from the free throw line.

He scored in double-figures in 20 games, highlighted by performances of 28 points against Tyler as well as a 26-point outing in a win over Bossier Parish in February.

Thomas played his first season at Queens University in North Carolina under Lundy, averaging 8.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in limited action. He connected on 70 percent (21-of-30) of his attempts from the floor while hitting on 57.1 percent of 3's and 85.7 percent of his free throw attempts.

Thomas started his basketball career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before finishing his high school career at Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina. While there, he helped lead the Knights to back-to-back appearances in the NCISAA 3-A state championship. The second-leading scorer on his team as a senior, he received offers from Georgia Tech and East Carolina at that time as well as from Texas A&M before choosing to sign with the Panthers.
