Freshman Region XIV MVP forward Constance Agyemang topped a cast of seven Navarro Bulldogs who made the 2023 All-Region team announced Monday.

 

Agyemang led all NJCAA point makers (63) and finished third in goal scoring (24), while helping to lead coach Alicia Wilson's Bulldogs (11-3-6) to their their fourth national tournament appearance in five years.

 

During Pool C play in her first NJCAA Tournament, Agyemang scored two goals, issued two assists and scored six points as Navarro went 1-0-1 and narrowly missed its first semifinal appearance since 2014.

 

Joining her on the All-Region XIV first-team were midfielder Wakana Ose and sophomore defender Alexandra Hughes.

 

Ose scpred 29 points from eight goals and 13 assists. She scored twice and assisted on two others in a win over Northeast Texas. She also handed out three assists and scored against Jacksonville.

 

Second-team all-region honors went to forward Payton Wallace, midfielder Azucena Martinez, defender Sydne Stoker and goaltender Sara Serrano.

 

Wallace finished with 29 points from 13 goals and three assists. Wallace had a personal-high four goals in a win over Northeast and a hat trick in an August win over Rose State College in Midwest City, Ok. Wallace, who scored Navarro's first four goals of the season, also scored a second-half, game-tying goal here against Tyler.

 

Martinez tallied Navarro's only goal in its pool tie with Arizona Western. She had 10 goals and four assists on the season.

 

Within the final week of September, Stoker had a team-record seven assists in one match, and followed it up with a hat trick.

 

Serrano started 18 matches in goal, made 58 saves and had an 0.95 goals-against average.
