
CORSICANA, TX- The Navarro College Volleyball team travelled to Cisco, TX to go up against, NJCAA Div ll #1 seed, Cowley College, along with host Cisco College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
The Dawgs came out strong against the Cowley College Tigers leading the set by as many as six points at 12-6. A block by sophomore middle blocker, Wiktoria Warpechowska and freshman outside, Tjasa Malnar helped the Dawgs take a steady lead at 17-10. The Tigers would take their first timeout at 20-12. Closing out the set for the Dawgs with a kill was sophomore opposite, Ana Beatriz Nunes Dos Santos. .
Second Set
The set started neck and neck before the Tigers took a two point lead at 4-6. The Dawgs would tie it up at 6-6 before a string of points were scored by the Tigers causing a four point gap at 7-11. Another ill by Dos Santos would helped create momentum for the Dawgs at 10-13. Sophomore outside, Lauren Tishkoff, gave the Dawgs a push to 16-17 with a kill. The Tigers would go on to take the second set at 21-25.
Third Set
The Dawgs started down but came back with a kill by Wiktoria Warpechowska. The Dawgs took a timeout at 7-19 and gained a few more runs of points before the Tigers took the set at 15-25.
Fourth Set
The fourth set started tighter at 4-5. A block by freshman middle blocker, Nia Mack, helped close the gap at 9-12. The Dawgs would rally to gain points but ultimately dropped the match to the Tigers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
Navarro College came out for the first time this season playing back-to-back matches in preparation for Region XIV Regionals Tournament this upcoming weekend. The Dawgs started behind at 3-7 and worked their way through the set. The Wranglers came to take the first set 15-25. .
Second Set
NC came out at 5-2 and continued to fight with eleven ties in the second set alone. The Wranglers took their first timeout at 22-20. Outside hitter, Lauren Tishkoff finished off the set with a kill at 25-21.
Third Set
The Dawgs started down four at 2-6 but continued to fight throughout the set. An ace by freshman defensive specialist, Lilouann Bechec, helped the Dawgs narrow the score to 14-16. The Wranglers would take the third with a run of points.
Fourth Set
The Dawgs started ahead at 5-4 with a kill by Lauren Tishkoff. Two aces back-to-back by freshman libero, Alessia Sonzini, would allow the Dawgs to be up 8-6. Five ties would ensue in the set before the Wranglers went ahead by four points and finished the match.
